To reflect students’ future goals, Indiana offers three types of Readiness Seals. These seals provide clarity for employers, military recruiters, and colleges, while allowing students to demonstrate real-world preparation.

TOA will offer the following Readiness Seals:

All TOA students in the Class of 2029 and beyond will pursue the Indiana Diploma, which requires 42 total credits across the following categories. 

Students will also demonstrate:

• Employability Skills, and

• Postsecondary Readiness Competencies through experiences aligned with their chosen Readiness Seal(s).

Students will meet the Employability Skills requirement through one of the following:

• Completion of a project-based learning experience (e.g., capstone project or research portfolio)

• Participation in a service-based learning experience (e.g., volunteering or school-based service initiative)

• Completion of a work-based learning experience (e.g., internship, job shadow, or apprenticeship)

TOA offers virtual and hybrid opportunities to fulfill these experiences with flexibility and guidance.

Postsecondary Readiness Competencies

All students earning a Readiness Seal will automatically meet Indiana’s Postsecondary Readiness Competency requirement. This replaces the Graduation Pathways requirement under the legacy system.

At TOA, students working toward the Employment or Enlistment Honors Seals will complete this requirement by:

• Earning approved industry credentials, or

• Completing aligned military readiness steps (for Enlistment Seal recipients)

For students not pursuing a Readiness Seal (e.g., legacy diploma students), traditional Graduation Pathways requirements will remain in effect through the Class of 2028.
