Tippecanoe School Corporation
Welcome to the Tippecanoe Online Academy

All full-time high school students at Tippecanoe Online Academy participate in a structured orientation designed to support a strong and successful start, regardless of when they enroll.

Students who begin at the start of the school year will take part in a live, week-long orientation experience prior to beginning academic coursework. This orientation introduces students to the expectations, tools, and routines of online learning and provides opportunities to connect with staff and peers.

Students who enroll mid-year or at other points during the school year will complete orientation through materials housed in their homeroom course. These materials include recorded orientation sessions from the beginning of the school year and guided activities that cover the same essential content. In addition, students receive early, personalized outreach from Ms. Cox, their Learning Success Coach, to ensure they understand program expectations and have the support they need to begin successfully.

Through orientation, students will learn about:

  • Best practices for being a successful online learner
  • Academic integrity and responsible digital behavior
  • Goal setting, organization, and time management
  • Study skills, digital tools, and what to expect at TOA

Orientation activities include reviewing the student handbook, acknowledging program expectations, and completing activities designed to build familiarity with TOA systems and community.

New Student Orientation is an important first step in helping students transition confidently into the TOA learning environment. Students receive access to their academic courses once orientation expectations are completed and they are prepared to begin coursework.
